The roulette table consists of a rotating wheel and a table where you can place your chips. The wheel is divided into 37 (or 38) equal fields with the numbers 1-36, as well as 0 (European Roulette) and possibly 00 (American Roulette). 18 of the numbers are red, 18 are black and 0 and 00 are green.
Regardless of what you bet on, you get a win that corresponds to the game “going straight up” on the 36 numbers: if you bet on one number and win, you get your money back 36 times (your own bet + 35 times the bet); do you play on 18 tracks – e.g. in the form of red – you get your money back twice (your own bet + 1 times the bet).
The green numbers 0 and possibly 00 are the casino’s winning fields. Whenever the metal ball ends up on a green field, no one wins and the casino takes all bets. This happens on average every 37 (or 19) times, and is the reason why the casino has a profit on the game.
However, you can also bet on 0 and 00, which then gives the same profit as the other numbers. However, this does not change the fact that the casino wins in the long run.
Inside bets
If you play on the numbers, it is called inside bets. It is the most risky, but also where you have the opportunity for the greatest profit. You have the option to play on 1, 2, 3 or 4 numbers at a time
1 number
Your winnings are 36 times the bet.
(The casino writes this as your own stake return + 35 times the stake in winnings, but in the rest of this article it is simply described as what you actually get if you win).
To bet on a number, place the chip on a number.
2 numbers
Your winnings are 18 times the bet.
To play on 2 numbers, place the chip on the line between two numbers.
3 numbers
Your reward is 12 times the bet.
To play on 3 numbers, place the chip on the vertical line to the left of the three numbers.
4 numbers
Your win is 9 times the bet.
To play on 4 numbers, place the chip on the intersection between the four numbers.
Outside bets
This is the name of the combination options of several numbers that the casino allows you to play at once. The size of the win corresponds to what you would win by playing on all the single numbers you cover. Since you are playing on many numbers at once, the risk is lower, but the winnings are not that big either.
18 numbers
Your winnings are 2 times the bet
Place chip on either: red, black, even, odd, 1.18, 19-36
12 numbers
Your win is 3 times the bet
Place chip on: 1-12, 13-24, 25-36, 1st column, 2nd column, 3rd column
If you play for a casino bonus, you may only play on 1 of the above at a time.
